Applications of automotive shafts Drivetrain: Propeller shafts (propeller shafts): Used primarily in rear-wheel drive (RWD), all-wheel drive (AWD), and four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicles. They transfer power from the transmission or transfer case to the differentials at the front and/or rear axles.
